danielle WILLEMS/annie KWON/ezio BLASETTI: Enneper Pavilion was developed for the Yorkshire Forward Comity for their annual summer festival. It is a playful exploration of designing through mathematical definitions.
The form of the pavilion emerges from the excess of surface of the Enneper-Weierstrass parameterization. The final outcome is an iterative negotiation between the external forces of a series of programmatic requirements and the surface minimization process. At once emblematic of its computational origin and perfomative because of its structural properties, the pavilion was designed to provide a different spin of the five petal white rose of the English Royal House of York, the symbol of Yorkshire.
