suckerPUNCH: Describe your project.
andrew HEUMANN: These abstract pieces are all created digitally, with a combination of Rhino, Grasshopper, and Photoshop, blending algorithmic and generative methods with intuitive and manual manipulation.
sP: What or who influenced this project?
aH: I’m influenced by techniques of architectural conception and representation, both digital and pre-digital. I try to work somewhere between the glossiness of rendering, the fuzziness of sketching, and the crisp but imperfect cleanliness of mechanical drawing.
sP: What were you reading/listening to/watching while developing this project?:
aH: Reading: Mario Carpo, The Alphabet and the Algorithm; McKenzie Wark, The Beach Beneath the Street; Ian Bogost, Alien Phenomenology. Listening: Elis Regina, Metronomy, Twin Sister, iamamiwhoami, Azealia Banks, Mina.
