suckerPUNCH: Describe your project.
PEZ: The “Endless Faces Project” is a series of portraits realised with graphite pencils on 300 gr/m2 paper. All drawings are 19×25″ in size, each portrait requiring approximately 30–40 working hours to complete.
sP: What or who influenced this project?
My idea was to create a feminine portrait in phase of disintegration. I wished through a dreamlike image, to congeal the movement and the weightlessness of a decomposition and thus a time(weather) which passes. I wished to characterize the passage of a “real” state (which would be the life) in a “abstracted” shape ( the death), by remaining pleasant visually and positive in terms of feelings.
sP: What were you reading/listening to/watching while developing this project?
PEZ: N/A.
sP: Whose work is currently on your radar?
PEZ: For a list of artists whose work I “follow,” see HERE.
