suckerPUNCH: Describe your project.
Dionysus CHO, Anne MA, & Daniel NGUYEN: Finding precedent in the process of kitbashing—originating in model trains—we took existing 3-D models with their own level of detail and then composed a new significant form from these models.
The aim was to create a high-resolution, 3-D printed physical space out of the conglomeration of disparate digital entities. Materials and texture were used regardless of original object intentions.
The sci-fi world of kitbashing and unlimited ornamentation/articulation enters the real world. . . .
