suckerPUNCH: Describe your project.
Andrea CADIOLI & Qi JIA: The project investigates contingencies of super-graphics and scars, where the first misreads tridimensionality and the second misplaces it.

Imperfect and broken, the skin becomes a medium to express history and traces rather than novelty and fluidity.
Scarification and super-graphics share common interests in the effect of the misreading and the misalignments, but also coherence and figuration. By approaching the design as a form of body/space modification, the building is treated as an organic element, with a history and an evolution, able to grow and vary in its geometrical organization while carrying parts of the original essence, coloration and tectonic.
The design features two discrete parts: lines and surfaces, to be considered as bones and skin. Their relation is a duality of influence and separation, entanglement and freedom. On this geometrical behavior of alone/together, scarification and super-graphic are applied to create effects of congruency/absorption or generating new visual ruptures in broken, accidental, thick materials.
Scarify the Misfigure accumulates dense data/intentions, challenges continuity and smoothness through depth of multi-layered surfaces, matter, finitures, functions. A new heterogeneous body is produced from discrepancies, new parts emerge from visual estrangements, new tectonics develop from the RGB space.
