suckerPUNCH: Describe your project.
Jose LUIS ARIAS REYNOSO: This project is about human-media interactions and its implications, interactions between virtual, mediated and augmented reality with the “real life”…

…and how media allows us to overtake our physical condition producing multiple virtual presences in different spaces, and also adopt distinct subjects at the same time, nowadays we are able to be a human, an object or even a building and interact with other subjects originated by humans but also by artificial intelligence.

Virtual, mediated and augmented reality have a specific requirement of aperture to the “real life”, and in the moment of formation of this aperture the interstitial spaces are created, they are transitions and means of communication between these two spatial concepts (virtual and real). They are the real point of interaction, where we have presence in both spaces at the same time. There is no more a singular place or city, we can be everywhere. To represent this concept I have explored the limits between urban context and internal space, transitions between outside (real life) and inside (digital media) relating this with the shared and common areas between art and architecture to question the preconceived limits between them, having as a result an “event of interaction” between digital media, real life, humans, artificial intelligence, architecture and art.
