suckerPUNCH: describe your project.

karen M’CLOSKEY+keith VANDERSYS: Playing off of the traditional knot-garden’s intricate geometric patterns, our ‘Not Gardens’ are made using parametric software and laser-cutter fabrication to precut customized patterns out of weed-control fabric, which is then laid on site and seeded. This produces diverse configurations with very low investment, effort, installation expertise, or maintenance.

kM+kV: Knot-gardens and parterres; Philadelphia mural arts.

sP: what were you reading/listening to/watching while developing this project?

kM+kV: reading the books of Blood by Clive Barker, listening, Deicide, Incantation, Ajjatara,Dark The Architecture of Patterns, The Acid House Kings, Avec Eric, Mad men.
