Francisco MARTINEZ: The project take the idea of box/objects in a box and turns it inside out by taking the objects out of the box and push them against the envelope from the outside to create interior spaces.
sP: What or who influenced this project?
FM: The word fabulous, (henna) tattoos, Batman and “coffee.”
sP: What were you reading/listening to/watching while developing this project?
FM: Reading: Jeffrey Kipnis’s “Towards a New Architecture,” Alejandro Zaera Polo’s “The Politics of the Envelope.” Watching: The Walking Dead, American Horror Story, and Girls. Listening to: Green Day’s ¡UNO!, ¡DOS!, and ¡TRÉ!; My Chemical Romance’s Conventional Weapons; No Doubt’s Push and Shove; and Britney Spears.
sP: Whose work is currently on your radar?
FM: Neil Denari, Tom Wiscombe, Erick Carcamo, and Volkan Alkanoglu.
