daniel CAVEN: The connectionweb pedestrian bridge, inspired by the theridiidae spider’s web, takes an organic role in the sociofugal urban environment. Using digital advances in parametric modeling, the connectionweb can adapt itself to most situations in which it is placed. Connectionweb takes on the initiative to stand up against environmental factors allowing wind and light to pass through its web-like outer shell. Using a sustainable solution to natural shading in the summer months, the connectionweb incorporates ivy growth on the outer web to block the suns rays.
