    suckerPUNCH: Describe your project.

Plugin (alexandre KURODA, dağhan ÇAM, karoly MARKOS, & ulak HA): Endemic Interstices proposes a new architecture as a system with the capacity to self structure, adapt and co-evolve within the environment considering natural resources as part of a tectonic system. The development of this research evolves as a bottom up system through iterative prototypes as adaptable type of inhabitation in rich arid unbalanced territory where the shape of the landscape is a consequence of water scarcity and constant weathering.

    suckerPUNCH: Describe your project.

claudio GRANATO, dino KIRATZIDIS, & cecilia SANNELLA: The Atlas of Sensations was a 4 week summer school at The University of Applied Arts in Vienna. The brief was to design a pedestrian bridge near the Urania building in Vienna. Our project looked at techniques of producing highly articulated, “pleated” surfaces. This was achieved by moving between the software platforms, which was one of the objectives of the course: we modeled in Maya, deformed the generic mesh (a tube, with apertures) with Processing; further edited the deformed geometry in Maya to adapt to the site; and produced gradients and perforations in Grasshopper to produce atmospheric effects inside the tube.

    suckerPUNCH: describe your project.

Alisa ANDRASEK + Jose SANCHEZ: Guided by the iconic features of pop culture such as exuberant colors and light, Phosphorescence explores the possibilities of bringing such polychromatic shimmer qualities to the site. As contemporary scientists marking brain neurons with phosphorescent glow to open new dimensions of our knowledge of the brain, we simultaneously sampled electrified lightscape of Taiwanese streets and night markets.

    suckerPUNCH: describe your project.

alisa ANDRASEK: Cliff formations found along many coastlines (including Kaohsiung outer coastline) are resonated through strong vertical fissures of the building. Fractals are frequently used to calculate coastline behavior, given the different degree of “roughness” and multiple orders of scale found in natural coastlines. ||Fissures Port Terminal proposal reflects the idea of such complex articulation within the tectonics of the building.
