Kory BIEG (OTA+): Caret 6 in an installation and exhibition designed and curated by Kory Bieg (OTA+) and his students from the University of Texas at Austin School of Architecture Design V Studio he taught in the fall of 2013. The installation supports prototypes and the winning project from TEX-FAB’s 2013 SKIN Competition.

suckerPUNCH: Describe your project.
farooq KHAYYAT: This project is designed in a graduate design studio at the Academy of Art University. Using parametric manipulation processes, the focus of this project is to generate a form catalog of different morphing forms to be used as a tectonic reference to inform the architecture of the project. The final result is achieved by analyzing these forms and borrowing elements that best represent different needs of the program. By combining certain formal qualities, it shapes a synthesized form that connects the building with its surrounding and hybridizes its program elements. The building features an exhibition for Smart cars, hotel and gym in an attempt to reactivate mid-Market Street in San Francisco and draw a diverse crowd into the project.

yao GAO: Reality Investigating the relationship between humans and the built environment when the virtual, real, and augmented realities of our world collide. As a temporary pavilion the intensity and frequency of visitors drawn to the site will amplify the extreme spaces and force the occupants to question what is real.

alexandra EPESHINA & veronica VELASQUEZ: Active and unexpected interaction between the Police Academy and Performance Theater was explored through transformations of volumes. Simultaneously, negative spaces evolved and informed the program and the quality of spaces.
