suckerPUNCH: describe your project.
alexa GETTING & lauren TICHY: (Op)Space - The goal of the project was to design and build a flexible, transportable, and reconfigurable architecture to help re-activate the empty storefronts that rupture the urban fabric of downtown San Jose. The design is a series of 10 hinged hexagons, that can be opened or closed to adapt to the needs of the users. As each hexagonal piece opens: a seat becomes a table, which potentially becomes a wall - flexible space. The winning concept was built this past summer by a team of CCA students led by Mona El-Khafif (Studio Instructor) and Kory Bieg (Fabricator/Designer).
