    suckerPUNCH: describe your project.

thomas BUSECK + oliver v. MALM: a wooden fluidity is a fully parametric driven design concept for a “villas colony” in osaka, japan. based on a fluid system, which interacts with the given assets, and provided us with all parameters. a hole set of scripts in maya and rhino have been developed evaluating the fluid system to design the villas. the main idea was to generate a system which provides a continuous language of design on the exterior as well as on the interior and all subsystems (i.e. structural elements as well as design elements). each system refers to all other systems in order to provide a fluid like, inherent design concept.

bin LU, vadimir IVANOV, robert LOFFLER: the whole year task is designing from small fashion and industry designs (shoes + bag, arm-chair + lap-top, car + garage, beach villa + boat) to bigger scales building projects (stadium + podium). total fluidity on all scales for all programmes. the final products for this semester integrate all first 3 double-designs into a single complex. our abstract idea behind is the interaction between user and object and object to object.

florian NIEDWOROK + brigitte SCHWÖLLENBACH: the challenge was to design a colony of villas; on the one hand each villa should differ from the others and on the other hand fuse to one coherent design on the other side using parametric design tools. based on 2d-studies we developed the whole project, including different villa typologies, urban layout and spatial concept on an interior level to create a stringent design concept which can be perceived throughout all levels of the design project . our aim was to connect analog and digital scripting techniques to find a convincing and suitable way of dealing with form, structure and program.

    suckerPUNCH: describe your project.

thomas SCHAITER + manuel SEISS: the working- process of this project is mainly driven by pragmatic external and internal parameters, by stepwise introduction of algorithmic intelligence- and executive - layers. first we focused on the development of a master pan, with fluid and associative quality’s and gradient transitions. we translated these characteristics into a cluster of residential buildings with further more complex external and internal influences.
