Zherui WANG: This house speculates on domestic living and its relationship, in the near future, to air. No longer considered, matter-of-fact, as an available resource, fresh air is commodified as a luxury consumer item—obsessively collected, carefully stored, and consumed in a contained environment.

Daniel CAVEN: 7004 House, designed by Daniel Caven, is based on using natural materials as structural components—the 7004 House is an open air wine house (3 seasons pavilion). Literally taking root, the site is located in the Midwest, overlooking a private client’s vineyard.

The Louisiana State Museum and Sports Hall of Fame in historic Natchitoches, Louisiana merges two contrasting collections formerly housed in a university coliseum and a nineteenth century courthouse, elevating the visitor experience for both. Set in the oldest settlement in the Louisiana Purchase on the banks of the Cane River Lake, the design mediates the dialogue between sports and history, past and future, container and contained.

Seda ZIREK: This table is inspired by the dripstone caves, which consists of a limestone formation called stalactite. These structures hang from the ceilings of the caves. They are created by dripping mineral waters of the cave. This water leaves its minerals behind in a circular shape as it descends towards the floor of the cave. Therefore, these structures represent the vertical movement of the mineral water as a result of the gravity force. Inspired by the stalactite structures, the Dripping Table is made of legs, which are descending from the top of the table into the floor. The continuity and elegancy of this table is a result of the emergence process of this continuous and elegant movement as it is in the dripstone caves.
