ModelArt studio: Origami Forum is a utilitarian space installation, intended to be used both outdoors and indoors. It is a multifunctional street furniture for sitting, lying, friendship, which can accommodate multiple users simultaneously, alone or in groups.

aleris RODGERS+francesco VALENTE-GORJUP: The Culver City Innovation Center caters to budding designers and inventors, providing them with work and display space, as well as the services necessary for them to conceive, design, fabricate, and market their inventions on site. In order to make the workshops as accessible as possible to the studios, we stacked the shops vertically in a central core and wrapped the studios around them. The glazed shops are interconnected both internally via private circulation and externally by a more public atrium, meant to increase awareness of activities taking place in other levels of the shop core.
Nicolas Winding Refn keeps upping the ante with his work, Drive seems promising with Ryan Gosling as a getaway driver, Ron Perlman, Carey Mulligan, and Albert Brooks as villain. Looks like it has plenty of grit, blood, and road rage.

anne FORSCHNER: Lovos (Lifestyle of Voluntary Simplicity) is based on a philosophical idea, which asks critical questions about the design, construction and use of road vehicles, as we know them today. The world we live in is increasingly complex and we move within multifaceted social structures, hardly noticing that we perhaps lack an overview over how products and services influence and overwhelm us.

melis EYUBOGLU+tuberk ALTUNTAS: Evolo Skyscraper 2011 Competition Entry - The site is in the central business district of Istanbul. Around 70’s; warehouses, factories were on these plots. However as the city started to expand, the factories moved to the city boundaries and the plots started to host skyscrapers.

GLOBAL Design NYU, a New York University project that aims to transform architecture and urban design in ways that address environmental concerns, will launch with an exhibit (opening May 25) and symposium (May 26 and June 10), jointly titled “Elsewhere Envisioned,” in the Jerry H. Labowitz Theatre for the Performing Arts at NYU’s Gallatin School for Individualized Study (1 Washington Place at Broadway).
