Ryan McChord BARNETTE: This thesis is the outcome of a visual taxonomy constructed from a series of representational explorations which attempt to investigate the more recent emergence of post digital aesthetics and representation through materiality and figuration. “mis{FIGURED}” translates as the obfuscation of quasi-conventional modes of architectural representation which question current advents of representational techniques as they are resolved into a two and a half dimensional installation.

In preparation for the 2024 Olympics , the U.S has commissioned the Los Angeles memorial coliseum to be retrofitted for the Olympic games . The term , after the flame in this case reuses the existing Olympic coliseum for the next Olympic games . The proposal for the project looks to assert power through the use of aesthetics and excessive amounts of detail.

The Alley FELLOWSHIP: The Alley Fellowship produces a two-month rotating exhibition and lecture series and is open to emerging, young, progressive artists in Los Angeles. The fellowship will be awarded to six artists, selected by a seven-member jury consisting of artists, designers, and architects from the A+D Museum and Rios Clementi Hale Studios. The jury will select based on which projects best embody the spirit of transdisciplinary creative exploration, a key focus area for RCHS and A+D.

The volumetric surfaces we designed have a large impact on the spatial experience of our building, as their surface geometry oscillates between the man made and the natural, as well as the familiar and unfamiliar.
